A clinical study was done on 67 cases of genitourinary disease, at the same time clinical and bacteriological study was carried out on 420 cases of non-genitourinary disease for detect the prevalance of asymptomatic bacteriuria in children. All patients were admitted to the pediatric department of Korea University Hospita during the period from March 1980 to February 1982.
The results obtained were as follows.

2. Among the 67 cases of genitourinary disease, 46 cases (68.6%) were male and 21 cases (31.4%) were female but 11 cases of asymptomatic bacteriuria, female show higher incidence than male (male : female, 6/231 : 5/39, 2. 1% : 3. 6%).

4. Hematological examination disclosed low hemoglobin in 9. 1% and leukocytosis in 54.5% for asymptomatic bacteriuria and 32. 8% and 46. 3% for genitourinay disease respectively. Urinalysis showed proteinuria in 9. 1% and hematuria in 9. 1% for asymptomatic bacteriuria and 58. 2% and 73% for genitourinary disease respectively.
5. Upper respiratory tract infection was the most common associated disease (45.5%) in asymptomatic bacteriuria and acute glomerulonephritis was the commonest disease (71. 6%) in genitourinary disease and nephrotic syndrome was the next (10.4%).
